FONTWELL PARK RACECOURSE

2010 will be a landmark year in the history of Fontwell Park with the opening of a new £6.5m Grandstand in the Premier Enclosure. The three-storey stand, complete with new hospitality facilities, bars, catering outlets and betting shop, will be open for the Ladies Evening fixture on Thursday 19th August.

Fontwell Park has a balance of weekend/evening fixtures combined with midweek afternoon meetings. There are 23 fixtures in 2010.

For racing purists, there are high prize money fixtures such as Countryside Race Day in February when the highlight is the National Spirit Hurdle, a recognised trial for races at the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals. In November we hold the Southern National meeting which also features the Tikram Handicap Hurdle.

We have Family Race Days throughout the year with plenty of entertainment organised for the children including fun fair rides, pets corner and face painters. Don’t forget children aged 15 and under are admitted free of charge to all race meetings. Our popular evening meetings have live music after racing. There is Abba Race Night on April 30th and Ladies Evening on August 19th. We also have Irish Race Day in October with a live band after racing.

We end the year with Christmas Party Race Days in December and an exciting new fixture on Boxing Day.

Fontwell Park has been voted the ‘Best Small Racecourse in the South East’ for the last 19 years by the Racegoers Club.

Whether you're a racing enthusiast, a corporate group, a group of friends or on a family outing we guarantee a warm welcome and a great day out at Fontwell Park.
